Why I Started Curious Mind Academy
Welcome! I’m Debra—and if you’ve found your way here, you’re probably a little curious too.
I’m so glad you’re here. This is my little corner of the internet dedicated to something I care deeply about: staying curious, learning new things, and taking care of our inner selves—especially as we get older.

Like many people over 40, I’ve felt the pull between wanting to keep learning and also wanting life to feel a little calmer and kinder.
I’ve always believed that curiosity is one of our superpowers. It keeps our minds active, helps us see the world with fresh eyes, and gives us that little spark of excitement—even on the hardest days.

This hub was born from a mix of lifelong learning, mental health recovery, and a fascination with how AI (like ChatGPT) can support both. I wanted to build a space that’s equal parts brain food, emotional support, and tech curiosity—with zero jargon and zero pressure.
Here, we explore AI tools, creative thinking, personal growth, and self-kindness. It’s a space where it’s okay to start over—again and again.

Why Does Lifelong Learning Matter?
Like many of us over 40, learning isn’t about school anymore — it’s about staying curious, keeping our minds sharp, and giving ourselves something to look forward to.
Every new thing we learn becomes brain-food: boosting memory, improving problem-solving, and helping us stay mentally flexible.
You’re never too old, too late, or too “behind.” Curiosity keeps us alive inside.

Why Should I Care About ChatGPT?
ChatGPT isn’t just tech — it’s a little helper for your tired brain.
Whether you need ideas, clarity, emotional support, or help organising your thoughts, ChatGPT can carry some of the mental load.
You don’t need to be “good with tech.”
Just talk to it like a friend (you can even speak to it). It’s here to make life easier, not harder.

What Does Kindness Do for My Brain?
Kindness releases dopamine and serotonin — your brain’s natural feel-good chemicals.
Tiny kind actions calm your nervous system, soften self-talk, and reduce stress.
Kindness isn’t about being perfect; it’s about giving your brain a softer place to live.
